I am finally 17 and in order to pass my theoryand practical testI had to look into some driving schools in the UK. I had to find one that I could afford so my mum will finally let me drive our auto by myself. Right now when I have to go out with friends she gives me a ride in the family van and it is very embarrassing. I needed to find a school with a good instructor right away so I would not have to suffer the embarrassment that I feel when she drops me off in front of places with all my school pals watching and laughing. Her van in a 70's style Volkswagen that is covered in bumper stickers from that decade. My mum has always been a hippie and she doesn't get how that could embarrass me.

Our auto on the other hand is very normal, nobody drives it right now so if I get my license it would pretty much be mine. I immediately began looking on-line for a driving school that had classes coming soon. I called and they explained that I would have hands on training from a very experienced instructor and the prices seemed reasonable. I will be getting 10 hours of driving instruction in the auto with the instructor plus a lot of sample testing that will prepare me for my real tests.

I really could not wait and had my mum sign me up the very next day. Wesigned up for the manual car lessons, those cost a lot less than the automatic car lessons. In total I will be attending 30 lessons spread out over 3 weeks. It feels like forever but I know once I get started it will go by fast.

Finally I will have the freedom I have always wanted. No more driving around town in the hippie van with the crazy woman. Now I can even ask girls out without fearing the rejection I always get becausethey knew my mum would be driving us. It's gonna be great to be on the road like an adult.
