Next week I am going to take up a course on defensive driving. This type of driving lesson is a unique one, much more advance than the basic driving lesson I had a few months ago.

I already took my driving test last week and passed. But learning to drive and passing the driving test is not enough for me. I really want to take up defensive driving to properly equipped myself once I decide to drive on the road.

One of my friends who took the driving test a month ahead of me met an accident last week. She was carefully driving her car along the highway, when suddenly, a motorbike hit the back of her car. Surprised, she lost focus and crashed her car on a nearby tree. She was hospitalized for more than a week because of that accident.

My brother on the other hand also met a road accident involving a motorbike. He was driving his car home.He was about to make his turnon a corner, when a motorbike suddenly appeared out of nowhere and was about to hit his car's bumper. Being the defensive driver he was, he swerved on the left side of the road. He was not hurt and so was the motorbike driver. His car's left head light got busted and the motorbike got scratches.

At present, most road accidents are caused by motorbikes or has a motorbike involved in it. And through the years road accidents involving a motorbike has been increasing tremendously and most of them fatal.That is the main reason why I decided to take defensive driving lessons. I may be a careful driver, but not all drivers that I will encounter on the road would be as cautious as me. I also believe that as a responsible adult, driving responsibly on the road is a must. I have kids and I send and fetch them to school everyday. As much as possible I want to keep them safe.

I am positively looking forward for my defensive driving lesson next week. I am really thankful that driving schools are offering advance courses like this for their students.
