With new residential areas being developed within the City limits, builders are getting very busy these days. It is becoming more of a builders' market than a buyers' market. This no doubt is a very positive sign of growth for the City, and all residents are very happyabout it.

Infrastructurenetworks, i.e. roads, railway lines, publictransport systems, telecommunication, etc., also has to expand to meet the growing needs in the City. This further creates opportunities for construction companies and construction workers. It is amazing to see how the works get delayed due to shortage of skilled and semi-skilled workers in all these sectors.

While those who can afford are going for new houses, many are still opting for house extensions, since that would be less capital intensive, and sufficient for the time being. There are construction companies which specialize on house extensions projects. In parallel with new housing developments, house extensions sector is also a tremendous business for construction companies.

Opportunities are growing for carpentry works too. A carpenter can easily find jobs in all sectors of the building construction business. It is so interesting to see how a carpenter can double his income, and how a carpenter with proven recordscan easily bid for higher service charges.

In fact, many construction workers from other regions are moving to the City seeing that the job opportunities are much higher here. That again further adds to the housing requirements in the rural areas of the City.

The population in the City almost doubled over a period of ten years. That was an amazing growth rate never seen before in the history of the City, something the City can rejoice about.

As the population grows and the number of residential areas expand, the need for waste disposal services grows. The City accordingly has been expanding the Department responsible for waste disposal services. Besides increasing the number of employees in the Department, new facilities are being added to be able to handle increased volumes of residential wastes.

The residents in all areas of the City, urban and sub-urban, very much appreciated the way the City has been managing the waste disposal services.
