I have just moved to a new state and with the move I had great expectations for where I wanted to live. I wanted an old home that I could basically make my own.

I moved from the beach in Florida to the mountains in South Carolina and was looking for a old farm house that need my tender loving care.

After looking for such a home one day I finally found it and I moved from renter of new home to the role of new home builder

I soon found there was a lot that came with buying a home that needed work, but I was willing to jump into the project because this was my new home and I was going to get to shape and mold this house into something I could enjoy and treasure for years to come.

My first project was to add a porch to the back of the house. I wanted to start here because out across the backyard was a great view of the majestic mountains and I wanted to be able to sit out there and enjoy the view after a hard days work.

So my first task to get this completed was to find a company who did extension building. This was a task I thought was going to be easy, but I soon discovered this was not an easy task because there were only a few companies in my area who actually did extension building. And a company who did actual do extension building was quite expensive.

But I finally found one I felt I could afford and felt comfortable with the work they said they were going to do and a contract was signed and the work was scheduled to begin.

Before they could start there was a few things I had to do for them. I had to contact waste management and arrange for some kind of waste disposal. I never thought of needing waste disposal since I was adding something not tearing down something, but they assured me this was something I needed and if I didn't make arrangements with waste management there would be fines to pay for all the waste disposal that would eventual gather on my property.

So I got on the phone with waste management and made all the necessary arrangements and within 2 months of all these arrangements I had a beautiful porch on the back of my house where I could go at the end of the day with a tall glass of tea and enjoy the majestic beauty of the mountains.
