I used to work for a company that specialized in house refurbishment and residential subdivision development.

I was employed by A Home Builders, one of the fewcommercial buildersin our state, for six years, around the time when it was still new in the business. AHB startedasa smallcompany withonly one officeat Marcos Building in Colon St.Its main warehouse was located across the street where its office was. It has since been expanded, though,three years after.

At the start, AHBonly accepted house refurbishment (flat refurbishment included) projects.But with the growth, plus, the demand from its clientele,it started accepting bigger projects like subdivision development.

From the single room in Marcos Building, AHB now occupies two floors of the said establishment with two extensions offices in the nearby cities.

Last year, I resigned after some rift with the manager. I could not actually stand the pressure at work. I was employed as an office assistant, but my actual work, apart fromthe normal office stuffs,involved going to the constructions sites or to some areas where the company was completing its flat refurbishment project tosupervise it. Itwould have been okay ifit only happened once in a while, butit seemed that everyday I was always directed todo that supervising job. And I was not a supervisor. We had twosupervisors. Butwhen these twowereout of town, I would become the officer-in-charge.I was glad with the trust they gave me, but it was just too much.Also, Iwas not compensated for my extra work.

Now, I'm connected to another home builder company, which used to do waste collection business in the past, as a design builder/creative consultant. For the few years I've worked for AHB, I've gained several knowledge of the job.

My new job is actually more interesting, as the company does not only provide better incentives, but also allow me to share my ideas.Icompleted oneflat refurbishment so far, and one house refurbishment project in a span of two months.Both carried my signaturedesign.Finally, I have afulfilling job.

And just recently, the company re-opened its waste collection business with me as its supervisor. Design builder/creative consultant and now waste collection supervisor, wow!
