Tony and John decided to have a new home builder come out to the spot they wanted to build on. A new home has an advantage of looking like it belongs in the landscape if it is pre-planned well enough. Taking the time to get a landscape designer and the new home builder to go out and look at the grade of the property will help the owners get the plans that will get the look they want. The owners must find a new home builder willing to work with a designer as he builds the new home to ensure it will fit the grade of the property and the end result will be what the owner is looking for.

They chose this new home builder because of the refurbishment projects this builder has completed for a company John has worked for in the past. For the time being, they are just talking about the plans. At this time nothing has been set in stone as of yet.

That meeting now took place over 4 months ago and we are well into the project for Tony and John's new home. There are a lot of changes from that first set of plans. The builder has made little changes. For instance, in the master bathroom, he made an extension for another cabinet, the hot water heater closet was moved further over to make more room for the bathroom on the other side. These extensions are nothing new while building a structure.

This happens more frequently during refurbishment projects. Refurbishment are usually done when a family decreases or increases in size. So, the use of an area changes over time. When a kitchen is refurbished new more modern conveniences are usually added. Automatic dishwashers or convection ovens, any number of built-ins are installed along with new modern materials that over time hold up better to use.

The waste disposal of materials not useful for one project can be recycled into another project and made useful again. Waste disposal and management is a big part of the future of building not only for the materials and their uses for today and tomorrow, but for a way of life. Waste disposal and management around the world should be a very important part of all building and refurbishment projects. Making our world not only beautiful but healthy should be our species goal. If we don't take care of our planet it can't take care of us. Our very existence depends on this way of living our lives and thinking about our goals for today and tomorrow.

We have dubbed this in modern times as “going green”, and I for one think this is very good trend in our society today. The children and our children’s children will only benefit from our actions today.
