DIY Heavan

I can not say that I particularly like DIY, so when my wife decided that this new house that we had just bought was a mess, I very quickly got a carpenter to see what was wrong with the place, and paid him well to fix the place up.

He said that he would have to knock a few walls down because they were rotten and because all the rain water was leaking through them. I said that he could yes, and asked him if he wanted anything. He said that he preferred tea to coffee, so I went and got him some.

He told me a few minutes later that theskip hire cost was really very good today, and that instead of one skip he had managed to get two for the same price. I said to him that the skip hire cost must really be good then, and if he wanted anything I would be in the living room, don't feel shy to ask for anything.

But as I sat there in the living room reading my book I could not help but wonder why the guy might have needed two skips. He told me that the skip hire cost had been fantastic, but why would any one want to buy two skips for a job that will only take one. Sighing, I closed the book and went to make myself a cup of tea.

As I entered the kitchen there was a huge splash of mortar as part of the house fell down. I grabbed our cat and sprinted out the house: well, what was left of the house. I came face to face with the second of the two skips.

It was a lo9vely skip, I have to say. You wouldn't know that the skip hire cost had been half price. It was heavily built, and painted in all sorts of bright colours. It was a work of art in itself - there were even faces and patterns and whirls of exotic designs in the skip.

I stood there, absolutely mesmerised by the look of the skip. The carpenter came up behind me at that point and poked me. He wanted to know if he could have another cup of coffee please?

Sure I said, putting down the frightened cat. He talked to me as I made it, and told me that he might just be needing a slightly large waste lorry than he usually used, and would that be alright with me......
