Lou was feeling out of sorts after his meeting with Eric. Over the pas

Lou was feeling out of sorts after his meeting with Eric. Over the past two weeks, he had met with a number of clients, whom he had felt confident about signing up contracts for the skip bins hire services. He thought that he could also convince some of the contractors or refurbishment projects to take up the total package, including waste disposal services.
However Eric was apprehensive about Lou. One of the clients, who is also his friend, told him frankly that he just did not like Lou. There was nothing that he had done wrong - he was polite; he had provided a proposal with reasonable skip bins hire quotes. Though his presentation was passable, however that was no reason to dislike the guy. He could not verbalise his feelings, just a 'gut feeling' that the guy was a smooth operator, very sneaky. He had no qualms about renewing his contract for the skip bins hire; but would like to request someone else to handle his account.
Eric believes in gut feelings and intuition - these had guided him about people in his years of working. However he could not very well penalize a person because of this. At the same time, he could not afford to have his clients and the skip bins hire contracts jeopardised. He decided to have one of his supervisors watch over Lou. He assigned Marissa to the job.
Marissa is one of Eric’s top performers. Enthusiastic and bubbly, she wins hearts and customers with her vitality. The contractors and project owners enjoy working with her;like Eric she is easy-going and likeable, but certainly not a pushover. She had quietly observed Lou the day he started work in their department, and had him tabbed as a smooth operator and a classic slacker.
When Eric told him about being assigned to a team partner, he was flustered. He entertained thoughts of being teamed up with Jackson, who smokes cigars and wear fruity cologne or Monique who is built like she heaves mortar and bricks daily. Or even worse, David, whom everyone in the department called ‘Davida’. When he found out that he would be working with Marissa, he was relieved. He had not like the idea of a team-partner, as it would definitely restrict his movement. However being partnered with such an attractive woman would be different. He was sure that in no time, he would have charmed her to no end!
